Music video
The music video for "Reunion" has garnered a high number of individual views through online venues such as YouTube since its release. The video is a companion piece to the music video created for the previous single, "Midnight City", continuing the story of a group of children with various psychic abilities as they are pursued by their shadowy handlers in an attempt to recover them. The video starts with the telekinetic children on the top of an old warehouse where they tested their abilities in the music video for "Midnight City" after combining all of their powers to make the sun set (also in the last video) the youngest child somehow starts glowing and when the light coming from her gets bright enough she dies. Then it shows another telekinetic child in captivity by federal agents who pinned her to a chair when she looks forward she sees the officials on computers trying to track the children. Then it shows on the warehouse rooftop one of the older child's comes to embrace the fallen child then it shows bounty hunters (most likely hired by the federal agents to find the children) in a van heading towards their location. then one of the boys try's to get the child embracing the dead one to leave but she refuses but eventually leaves with the rest of the group. It then shows the children running down a street but when it turns out to be a dead end the bounty hunters approach in their van the driver then is revealed to also have telekinetic abilities and gets out of the vehicle and lifts it up and attempts to throw it at the kids who then fight back with their own powers causing the van to stand in the air. During this confrontation the child in captivity starts recognizing her abilities and her eyes glow red and she starts shaking. When the confrontation between the children and the bounty hunters ends with the children's powers pushing the van back several blocks away the girl being held by federal officials ends her strange moment. the girl escapes the facility where she is held. The group of children who distracted the bounty hunters then take refuge in an abandoned cathedral. The video of a trilogy which is concluded in the video for "Wait" in which the girl who escaped captivity becomes a prophet like person and one of the few survivors of an world war 3 battle like event .[2]
As with the previous music video, the artists cited Akira as a major source of inspiration. This explains why the plot about federal agents experimenting on kids with telekinetic abilities is also the main plot for the 1988 film.[3]
