Rahul Kohli (born 13 November 1985) is an English actor. He is best known for his television roles as Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti in iZombie (2015–2019), Owen Sharma in The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020), Sheriff Hassan in Midnight Mass (2021), Napoleon Usher in The Fall of the House of Usher (2023), and Sunil Bhandari in Death and Other Details (2024).
Early life and education
Kohli was born in England, the son of Indian immigrant parents. His mother was raised in Thailand , while his father spent his early years in Kenya .[ 1] Two of his grandparents were born in parts of British India that fall in modern-day Pakistan .[ 2] [ 3] [ 4]
Kohli attended Northolt High School , and later enrolled at Uxbridge College to study media.[ 5]
In 2006, he trained with the Questors Theatre company.[ 6] [ 7]
Career
Kohli was cast in a lead role in the television series iZombie from 2015 to 2019 as Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti.[ 8] He appeared in all 71 episodes of the show. Other notable credits include the 2018 film Happy Anniversary ,[ 9] the TV series Supergirl from 2017 to 2019[ 10] [ 11] and the animated series Harley Quinn from 2019 to 2020. Kohli starred as Owen Sharma in The Haunting of Bly Manor , a Netflix horror drama series by Mike Flanagan , released in October 2020.[ 12] [ 13] He went on to star in Midnight Mass , a supernatural horror miniseries, also created by Flanagan, in the role of Sheriff Hassan Shabazz.[ 14] The series was released in September 2021.
Personal life
In July 2018, Kohli announced his engagement to Yasmin Molloy.[ 15] This engagement was privately ended sometime afterwards and Kohli has since confirmed he's dating video game writer Alanah Pearce [ 16] after appearing in streams and streaming himself from her apartment.
Outside of acting, Kohli is known for his support for football team Liverpool ,[ 17] and being an avid gamer.[ 8]
