Pflugerville Independent School District (PFISD ) is a public school district founded in 1902 and is based in Pflugerville , Texas (USA ). The District encompasses approximately ninety-five square miles and includes all or part of six municipalities including Pflugerville, Austin, Coupland, Hutto, Manor and Round Rock.[ 1] As of 2013[update] PISD covers 10.7 square miles (28 km2 ) of land within the City of Austin, making up 3.4% of the city's territory.[ 2]
In addition to Travis County ,[ 3] it covers parts of Williamson County .[ 4]
In 2011, the school district was rated "academically acceptable " by the Texas Education Agency .[ 5] In 2014, the district installed solar panels at 11 of its schools.[ 6]
