It corresponds roughly to the following wilayas:

• Oran Province
• Mostaganem Province
• Mascara Province
• Sidi Bel Abbès Province
• Relizane Province
• Aïn Témouchent Province
• Tlemcen Province.

The capital of the region is the city of Oran.
