Nonoka Murakata (村方乃々佳), also popularly known as Nono-chan (born 31 May 2018) is a Japanese child prodigy and singer.[1]

Career

In October 2020, she took part in Japan's 35th Nursery Rhyme Children's Song Contest. She gained widespread media attention and became the talk of the town in Japan after grabbing the silver medal in the children's category. She also became the youngest in the history of the Nursery Rhyme Children's Song Contest to receive a Silver prize, for her performance of the song Dog Policeman.[2] In December 2020, her song performance which was part of Japan's 35th Nursery Rhyme Children's Song Contest was eventually uploaded to YouTube for public view.[3] In May 2021, she debuted as the youngest-ever Japanese nursery rhyme singer.

She composed and released her debut solo album at the age of 2 titled Nono-chan 2 Years Old Children’s Songs. Her maiden album also consisted of her popular cover song Dog Policeman as an additional bonus track. The production studio company King Records collaborated with Nonoka Murakata to produce the album.[3] She was widely acknowledged for her efforts in releasing her first album at the age of 2 and 361 days and she was officially recognized as the Guinness World Record for being the youngest solo artist in the world to release a song album.[4]
