In this Malay name, there is no surname or family name. The name Zainal Abidin is a patronymic, and the person should be referred to by their given name, Muhaini. The word "bin" or "binti"/"binte" means 'son of' or 'daughter of', respectively.
In 1979, Muhaini became friends with Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who was 18 at the time.[4] She married him in 1986. They had four children – three sons and one daughter.[3][5][6]
One of her sons, Dafi (born Gadaffi bin Ismail Sabri), was a participant in the fifth season of reality program Akademi Fantasia in 2007. Her only daughter, Nina Sabrina, has married a fashion designer named Jovian Mandagie,[5][6] but divorced in August 2023.[7]
