Mollabekir is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Karayazı, Erzurum Province in Turkey.[1][2] Its population is 35 (2022).[3]
Geographical Location
Situated approximately 142 kilometers from Erzurum's city center and 22 kilometers from the Karayazı district center, Mollabekir lies to the southeast of Karayazı. The neighborhood is accessible via a 10.3-kilometer village road connecting to the D.270 state highway through Akpınar and Mollaosman neighborhoods.
Historical Context
Since 1946, the neighborhood has been known as Mollabekir. Following Erzurum's designation as a metropolitan municipality in 1993 and the enactment of Law No. 6360 in 2012, which abolished the legal entity status of villages, Mollabekir was incorporated as a neighborhood of the Karayazı Municipality.
