Since the first competition in the Miss Grand Thailand pageant in 2016, Bangkok's representatives won the main title once; in 2022, obtained by Engfa Waraha,[5] and was named the second runner-up once; in 2023, by Pimjira Jaroenlak.[6]
History
In 2016, after Miss Grand Thailand began franchising the provincial competitions to individual organizers, who would name seventy-seven provincial titleholders to compete in the national pageant, the license for Bangkok was purchased by a model and actress, Russamee Tongsiripaisri [th],[1][7] who later organized the first Miss Grand Bangkok competition on 16 April 2016,[1] in which a University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce student, Wisumitra Prayoonphan, was elected as the first Miss Grand Bangkok titleholder.[8] Tongsiripaisri relinquished the franchise to an actress Anyarin Terathananpat [th] in 2019.[4][9]
The pageant was skipped once; in 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand, the national organizer was unable to organize the national event, and the country representative for the international tournament was appointed instead.[10]
