The Meghalaya State League is the top state-level football league in the Indian state of Meghalaya. It is managed by Meghalaya Football Association (MFA).[1] Rangdajied United are the current champions by virtue of winning the third edition.[2][3]
The first edition of the Meghalaya State League was held in 2017. It was modelled on the lines of UEFA Champions League, with the competition involving participation for the top clubs of the 21 football leagues which operate in Meghalaya's 11 districts.[4]
The clubs participating in the league are divided into four groups and are drawn from all over the state. The champions from the district leagues are direct entrants and along with runners-up teams of the more prominent leagues, while the rest go through qualifying rounds.[5] The clubs are placed across the groups with four hosts across the state chosen as hosts.[6]
