This is a relatively new, and legitimate Italian news website. It's an online news service, created and supported by one of the most famous Italian journalists, Enrico Mentana. I think it is automatically blocked because of the ".online" in the URL. @Ritchie92: I guess it is due to .*\.(ga|cf|ml|gq|online|site)/.*?\d{4,5}[-/]\d{1,2}[-/]\d{1,2}.* (which is likely added due to a lot of spam we received with movie cruft on sites with such a form). Link is some blog so presumably this is an attempt to drive traffic to their site. Note that 103.79.228.49 also made an edit to .onion to change it to .onon, which happens to be a link shortening service that wewishes.com makes use of. See the bottom of the wewishes page. Nordvpn recently started an affiliate program, ever since there have been daily efforts to change the official link (nordvpn.com, please don't block that) to an affiliate link (go.nordvpn.net/XXXX) or a domain that redirects to one of these affiliate links (the other domains listed here). That's going to be quite difficult. I figure you might ask an adminbot to periodically compare the listings at MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist against all hits on Special:Log/spamblacklist going back one year and post a report of all regexes that weren't triggered, but it's not something that could be trivially done manually. Linseis Messgeräte GmbH is german manufacturer for thermal analysis devices, also based in USA and China. Many years ago the site was blacklisted. Some kind of scraper site with advertising heavy autogenerated content about automotive news. Has been linked in repeated WP:COPYVIO and WP:LINKSPAM by blocked spammers, sockpuppets.
IQPC is a global b2b event company that has hosted a multitude of different events, including many events that could be cited as reliable sources. I'm not quite sure why it was blacklisted, looking through the logs I don't actually see IQPC, but only a website that's called \biqpc\.com perhaps there's an overlap there? The domain is registered in Israel (the website is in Hebrew) and seems to be for a marketing firm. The IPs however, geolocate to Algeria, Bangladesh, and Luxembourg. Given all these factors, this seems like a pretty deliberate spam attempt. Wikipedia was spammed by [presumably] NordVPN's affiliate partners, who would redirect the link AWAY from nordvpn.com to sites such as nordvpnoffer.com and go.nordvpn.net. The last such edit took place after nordvpn.com had been blocked - the spammers changed the link to nọrdvpn.com (note the special character). Therefore, blocking nordvpn.com did not stop the spamming. Another point: Currently the only whitelisted part is nordvpn.com/about-us/, which provides no actual information about the service but rather contains a lot of 'inspirational' corporate buzzwords. @Robson7252: I have said this before, who is spamming Wikipedia is not our problem, our goal is to protect Wikipedia from the influx of unwanted links. A few passing mentions in blogs, opinion pieces and trade rags are not sufficient to establish credibility, such publications would use any source that supports their marketing agenda. None of the company's claims about their expertise, size, and anonymous testimonials is verifiable. The website open.online is a relatively new, and legitimate Italian news website. It's an online news service, created and supported by one of the most famous Italian journalists, Enrico Mentana.
Now there is another URL of this website that I would like to add as a source but I can't (I can't even post it here unlinked). I hope that this time the whole website could be whitelisted. Is it possible to block an individual page without blocking an entire domain? One of our ongoing long-term abusers has started creating pages linking to a google post (posts.google.com/share/ZazhHI6x), as a way of trying to manipulate search robots, since the top-level domains (lovifm and its variations) he was previously spamming are already blocklisted. Would it be possible to filter individual pages like this, to make spamming a little more difficult for this LTA account?
