Maialen Chourraut Yurramendi (born 8 March 1983) is a Spanish slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level representing Spain since 2000.
The Spanish Olympic Committee, chose Chourraut and the Olympic canoerMarcus Cooper as the Spanish flag bearers at the París 2024 Olympics opening ceremony on the River Seine. Chourraut turned it down as she was competing the next day in the K1 Slalom. The sailor Tamara Echegoyen was competing at her fourth Olympics and she was chosen to replace her as she had the next most outstanding record.[4]
