Loice Chekwemoi (born 12 December 2006) is a Ugandan steeplechaser. In 2024, she became African champion in the 3000 metres steeplechase at the age of 17.[1]
Career
In January 2022, she was runner-up at the Ugandan national cross country championships in Tororo.[2] She finished sixth in the women’s 3000m steeplechase at the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships in Cali, Colombia.[3]
She won a bronze medal as part of the Ugandan team at the 2024 World Athletics Cross Country Championships, placing ninth individually in the senior women's race.[4]
In June 2024, she won gold at the 2024 African Championships in Athletics in the Women's 3000 metres steeplechase in Douala, Cameroon.[5]
She won the silver medal at the 2024 World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima, Peru.[6][7]
