Background

For season 3, the salary cap had been increased by R 5,100,000 to R39.1 million (US$2.65 million) per team.
Each team has 19 player slots to select for their final squad. From the 19, each team has to select one wildcard and one rookie player.
Similar to the previous season, each team has to pick a minimum of ten South African players.

All South African players bought at 2023–24 SA20 auction were on 2-year contracts. Teams had the option to retain, trade or buy out these players.
