Lefty Taber
Edward Timothy "Lefty" Taber (January 11, 1900 – November 5, 1983), was a Major League Baseball pitcher who played in 1926 and 1927 with the Philadelphia Phillies. He batted and threw left-handed. Taber had a 0–1 record, with a 10.80 ERA, in nine games, over his two-year career. Taber graduated from Rock Island High School in Illinois in 1918 where he starred in multiple sports. He later played college baseball and college basketball for the University of Dubuque.[1] Taber did not play professional baseball between 1922 and 1925, instead playing semi-professional baseball while attending college.[2][3] Taber was born in Rock Island, Illinois, and died in Lincoln, Nebraska.
