American football player (born 2002)
Josh Simmons (born December 26, 2002) is an American football offensive tackle for the Ohio State Buckeyes . He previously played for the San Diego State Aztecs .
Early life
Simmons was born on December 26, 2002, in San Diego, California .[ 1] He attended and played football at Helix High School , where he was rated a four star recruit and committed to play college football at San Diego State University for the Aztecs .[ 2] [ 3]
College career
San Diego State
In Simmons first career season in 2022, he started all 13 games for the Aztecs, appearing on 799 snaps.[ 4] [ 5] After the conclusion of the 2022 season, Simmons decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal to continue out the rest of his college career elsewhere.[ 6]
Ohio State
Simmons transferred to the Ohio State University .[ 7] [ 8] Simmons entered the 2023 season as the Buckeyes starting left tackle after beating out Tegra Tshabola for the job.[ 9] [ 10]
On December 4, 2024, Simmons declared for the 2025 NFL draft .[ 11]
