At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population (as a part of the Central District) was 5,368 in 1,118 households.[5] There were 4,999 inhabitants in 1,221 households at the following census of 2011.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 3,896 in 1,075 households. The most populous of its 41 villages was Pa Alam, with 1,010 people.[2]
In 2023, the rural district was separated from the district in the formation of Bala Geriveh District.[3]
