Independiente Barranquilla Futsal is a futsal club located in the city of Barranquilla that participates in the Liga Colombiana de Fútbol Sala. It was founded during the second half of 2012. In 2023 they won their first league title in Cúcuta against Cúcuta Futsal F.C. In February 2024, they won the Super Liga Betplay Futsal title against Sport Team of Bogotá, which gave them a place in the 2024 Copa Libertadores de Futsal in Argentina, where they finished in 4th place.

History

In the second half of 2012,[1] after the withdrawal of sponsorship by the Universidad Autónoma del Caribe Fútbol club, the president of the club, Álvaro Lora, maintained a base of players from the Atlántico de Fútbol Sala team and baptized the team with the name of Barranquilla Futsal with the support of the Atlantic Football League.

In 2015 the name of the team was changed to Independiente Barranquilla Futsal. It is the only team from the Colombian Caribbean coast to be league champions and participate in the Copa Libertadores de Futsal.
