iMocha is a skills intelligence and skills assessment software company headquartered in Pune, India, and incorporated in the United States.[1][2] The company develops a software as a service platform that uses artificial intelligence to assess the job-related skills of candidates and employees.[3][1]
History
iMocha was founded in 2015 by Amit Mishra and Sujit Karpe, both former IBM executives.[1][4] The company was initially named Interview Mocha before it later adopted its current name, iMocha.[1]
In August 2020, iMocha raised US$600,000 from angel investors, including Girish Mathrubootham and Anand Chandrasekaran.[1]
In January 2022, the company raised US$14 million in its first institutional venture round, a Series A led by Eight Roads Ventures, with existing investors Upekkha and Better Capital participating.[5][6][7] Aditya Systla of Eight Roads Ventures and Prasanna Krishnamoorthy of Upekkha joined the company's board of directors.[1]
In May 2023, iMocha and EY jointly published a report on technology-skills transformation in the workplace.[8][9] The report stated that 81% of the surveyed organisations reported a shortage of skilled technology workers.[8]
In October 2024, SAP named iMocha among the first partners to integrate with its newly launched Talent Intelligence Hub within the SAP SuccessFactors platform, alongside Beamery, Degreed, Korn Ferry, and Lightcast.[10][11]
Operations
iMocha's platform provided enterprise customers with a library of more than 10,000 job-related skills assessments.[3][1] The assessments cover subjects including software programming, data science, machine learning, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.[3]
