The Higham Ferrers school shooting was a shooting that occurred on 6 January 1988 at The Ferrers School, Higham Ferrers, England in which a 16-year-old student of the school, Darren Fowler, having been expelled in late 1987, took a 12-gaugeshotgun to school in an attempt to kill his romantic rival. He injured two teachers and two twelve-year-old students before being subdued and disarmed by staff. He was later ordered to be detained for life.[1][2][3]
