In 1823 Eddlethorpe (then Eddlethorp), was in the civil parish of Westow, and the Wapentake of Buckrose in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Population at the time was 62, with occupations including two farmers, one of whom was the Surveyor of Highways.[1]
Eddlethorpe was formerly a township in the parish of Westow,[2] in 1866 Eddlethorpe became a separate civil parish, on 1 April 1935 the parish was abolished and merged with Burythorpe.[3] In 1931 the parish had a population of 38.[4]
