Wisepops is a software company that provides a marketing platform including popups, onsite feed, embedded forms, web push notifications, and A/B testing for ecommerce websites. The company is headquartered in Paris, France[1]. The majority of the merchants using the Wisepops platform are ecommerce businesses that operate on platforms such as Shopify.
History
Wisepops was founded in 2013 by Benjamin Cahen.[2] Cahen previously managed an eco-friendly product marketplace where he saw the potential to improve visitor engagement through contextual popup campaigns.
Cahen initially bootstrapped his company without external funding and developed the product with freelance developers while still employed at Amazon. By 2018, Wisepops achieved $1 million in annual recurring revenue, while remaining a fully-remote company and without raising external investment.[3]
As of 2025, Wisepops remains fully bootstrapped. [2]
Software and services
Wisepops platform includes:
- Website popups
- Onsite feed
- Embeds
- Web push notifications
- AI product recommendations
- A/B testing
The software integrates with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce, as well as other marketing software including Klaviyo, Yotpo, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Brevo, Emotive, and Postscript.
Recognition
In November 2024, Wisepops was recognized at the 11th Connected Commerce Night, an annual French retail and technology award ceremony in Paris. The company received a trophy in the Customer Experience category for helping ecommerce businesses increase customer engagement.[4]
