Draft:Tim Swanson

  • Comment: No significant coverage (in-depth, more than passing mentions) in reliable independent secondary sources; interviews don't count (see WP:INT). Don't use Wikipedia as a source. Final ref has no mention of Tim Swanson (notability is not inherited from a distant relative). Paul W (talk) 11:12, 1 May 2026 (UTC)

Tim Swanson is an American musician best known as a keyboardist for the avant-garde metal band Dog Fashion Disco.

Career

Dog Fashion Disco

Swanson is a member of Dog Fashion Disco, an American avant-garde metal band formed in Rockville, Maryland in 1995. The band is known for blending multiple musical styles, including heavy metal, jazz, and experimental music.[1]

He first performed with the group in 2006, temporarily replacing keyboardist Jeff Siegel during touring in support of the album Adultery. Following the band’s reunion in 2013, Swanson became a full-time member and has remained part of the lineup.

Swanson has been identified as the band’s keyboardist in interviews and live performance reviews.[2] A live review of the band’s performances described the lineup, including Swanson, as “note perfect,” highlighting the group’s technical precision in concert.[3]

He contributed keyboards to the band’s post-reunion material, including Sweet Nothings (2014), their first studio album following a multi-year hiatus.

Ideamen

Swanson is a founding member of the Chicago-area rock band Ideamen. The group formed in 2006 and released the EP Progress (2007) and the full-length album May You Live in Interesting Times (2009).[4]

The band’s music incorporates elements of progressive rock and experimental music, with an emphasis on keyboards and vocal harmonies.[4]

Other projects

Swanson was previously associated with the experimental band Duct Tape Mustache, active in the early 2000s.[citation needed]

He has also released independent material outside of his band work, including songs published online under his own name.
