Thomas Lavin (born 1965) is an American design showroom entrepreneur. He is best known for opening one of the first eponymous largescale luxury multi-line showrooms in Los Angeles^[1] and for discovering many now well-known designers of furniture, lighting, textiles, rugs, accessories and artwork.^[2]

Native Angeleno Lavin grew up in Pacific Palisades^[3]. Design was an interest from an early age, with influences coming from a wide range of inspirations, particularly his grandfathe^[4]r Richard Irvine, a senior figure at Walt Disney Imagineering where he headed design and planning for all Disneyland attractions including the The Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. Lavin studied at UCLA, receiving a BA Art History, followed by a Certificate from the UCLA  Anderson School of Management Executive Program in Management 

Thomas Lavin started his career in design at Everage Design and then Kneedler Fauchere. He opened his eponymous showroom on Beverly Boulevard in 2000. It featured the work of unknown and now well-established designers including, Kevin Kolanowski of Fuse Lighting, Jiun Ho, Gary Hutton, and Galbraith & Paul^[5], all of whom he still represents^[6]. Lavin expanded and moved the showroom to the Pacific Design Center in 2005, and opened a second location at the Laguna Design Center in Laguna Niguel, CA in 2014.

Lavin is a member of Hammer Museum: Hammer Circle, and AHAN: Studio Forum at Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and a supporter of numerous good causes including Homeboy Industries, The Trevor Project, Black Trans Advocacy Coalition, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and the LA Phil, as well as design focused schools FIDM and UCLA Extension.
