The Chitombis are a South African social media content creation duo consisting of Daniel Chitombi and Ingrid-Rose Chitombi. Previously based in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, and currently residing in Umhlanga, the couple is primarily known for producing lifestyle, comedic, and family-oriented digital content documenting their daily life, intercultural marriage, and experiences as parents.
Background and personal life
Daniel Chitombi, originally from Zimbabwe, and Ingrid-Rose Chitombi, originally from Chatsworth, Durban, met in 2021 and were married in 2023.[1] Aside from their digital content creation, Daniel and Ingrid-Rose head up Nyasha Productions, a multi-function marketing agency.[2] The couple welcomed their first child in 2025. The couple's public content frequently explores the dynamics of their interracial relationship, navigating family boundaries, and early parenthood. Ingrid-Rose has spoken publicly about choosing her husband despite facing pushback from extended family members over their cultural and national differences.[3]
Content creation and media features
The duo gained broader regional and international visibility through viral digital content detailing their everyday domestic experiences and celebrating their relationship online.[4] In 2025, a humorous video documenting their encounter with a home security alarm system attracted local traction and was featured by regional media outlets, including East Coast Radio (ECR).[5] They have also utilized their platforms to discuss social issues in South Africa, sharing personal testimony regarding interracial relationships, social cohesion, and overcoming prejudice. In April 2025, the couple were interviewed by Briefly TV Life, with Ingrid-Rose discussing her decision to cut ties with family members who opposed their relationship.[6] Their story was subsequently covered by South African digital outlet Virgo.[7]
