Lee Jian Tat (Chinese: 李建达; born 6 July 1995) is a Malaysian entrepreneur. He is the co-founder and chief operating officer of PNH Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., a company whose operations span pet transportation, food-waste upcycling, and digital services.[1]
Early life and education
Lee was born in Malacca, Malaysia, on 6 July 1995. He studied physics at Kanazawa University in Japan and returned to Malaysia around 2019, after living in Japan for several years.[2]
Career
After returning to Malaysia, Lee worked for about a year at the Kuala Lumpur office of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), where he helped promote bilateral trade and investment between Japan and Malaysia. He subsequently joined Kintone Malaysia, a subsidiary of the Japanese software company Cybozu.[2]
In 2024, Lee co-founded PNH Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. with Masatuna Ogi, the founder of Japan's ProntoNet Co., Ltd. (PNH). As chief operating officer, he oversees the company's operations, which include the import and export of pets between Malaysia and Japan, recycling and bioplastics, and digital marketing .[1]
In December 2025, PNH Malaysia partnered with the food supplier Haco Asia to convert coffee grounds into biochar using low-temperature carbonization technology. Lee said the initiative helps reduce waste-disposal costs for the food industry and creates opportunities for research and development in green applications.[3]
In 2024, Lee was a speaker at the Genting SustainBiz sustainability conference, hosted by Resorts World Genting, where he gave a presentation on the upcycling of food waste.[4]
