The Orlando Gay Chorus (OGC) is one of the largest mixed gay choirs in the country, comprised of 150+ LGBTQ+ individuals and allies. OGC was founded on Valentine's Day in 1990. They perform music in the SATB (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass) voicing. In addition to the full chorus, OGC has six small-group ensembles. OGC is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit arts and humanitarian organization.

The chorus runs several donation campaigns, including the True Colors Giving Campaign and Memorial Funds.

OGC's Memorial Funds were established to honor the legacies of chorus members with funds dedicated to specific chorus functions.

OGC is sponsored by various organizations, including the United Arts of Central Florida, Crew Health, Florida Arts and Culture, Universal Orlando Resort, Orange County Arts & Cultural Affairs, the Central Florida Foundation, and Walt Disney World.

In February 2015, OGC's President of the Board of Directors, Karl Halgund, announced James A. Rhose as the new artistic director.^[1] On June 12, 2016, the Pulse nightclub shooting happened. The OGC performed at more than 100 events in the first year after the Pulse shooting, including the 1-year Lake Eola memorial in June.^[2]

The OGC held virtual events and shows in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In an interview, Rhodes commented, “There wasn’t the same sense of community as in-person rehearsals, so some people did fall away last year, but auditions in January were huge". In January 2021, 40 people auditioned. They returned to live, in-person concerts on March 21, 2021, with their show, "70's One Funky Decade".^[3]
