Nscale is a Europe-based technology company specializing in AI-ready data centers and high-performance GPU cloud infrastructure.[1] Headquartered in London, the company was founded in May 2024 by Joshua Payne.[2] As a full-stack hyperscaler, Nscale delivers scalable and sustainable infrastructure to support compute demands of artificial intelligence, machine learning and high-performance computing projects.[3]
History
Nscale was incorporated on May 29, 2024, by co-founders Josh Payne and Nathan Townsend.[4]
Since its founding, Nscale has built partnerships with Nokia, OpenAI, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and others.[5][6][7]
In December 2024, the company closed its Series A investment round at $155 million.[8] In September 2025, Nscale raised $1.1 billion in Series B funding, recognized as one of the largest rounds in Europe.[9] By October 2025, Nscale secured $433 million in a pre-Series C SAFE funding round.[10]
In March 2026, Nscale raised $2 billion in Series C funding as former Meta COO Sheryl Sandberg, former Yahoo! president Susan Decker, and former U.K. deputy prime minister Nick Clegg joined Nscale’s board of directors.[11]
Partnerships & Projects
In September 2025, Nscale signed a deal with Microsoft to provide and distribute approximately 200,000 Nvidia GB300 GPUs to various data centers, with more than half going to the cryptocurrency firm Ionic Digital in Texas.[12]
In September 2025, Nscale announced it would establish Stargate UK, a UK infrastructure platform across multiple sites in the UK.[11]
In October 2025, Nscale partnered with Vast Data to deploy its AI Operating System, supporting scaling 300,000 NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GPUs globally.[13]
