Maria Felipe is a Cuban-American author, minister, and public speaker known for teaching A Course in Miracles (ACIM) and for her book Live Your Happy: Get Out of Your Own Way and Find the Love Within, published by New World Library in 2017.[1][2] Before her spiritual career she worked as a fashion model and Spanish-language television host, and was an interviewer on the World Wrestling Federation program WWF Super Astros.[3]
Early life
Felipe was born in Miami, Florida, into a Cuban-American family.[2][3]
Modeling and television career
Felipe began her career as a fashion model, appearing in publications including Cosmopolitan, Vanidades, Ocean Drive, Latina, and People en Español.[2] She then hosted Spanish-language television programs for the Telemundo network, including the dating show Juegos Nocturnos and the music program De Noche.[2][3]
In 1998 she was chosen as an interviewer for WWF Super Astros (also broadcast as Los Super Astros), a professional wrestling program produced by the World Wrestling Federation and aired on Univision until 1999.[3][2] The Spanish-language edition of People, People en Español, described her as "Una Campeona Sin Rival" ("a champion without a rival").[2][3]
Ministry and teaching
Around 2009 Felipe left the entertainment industry to pursue spiritual teaching.[3] She became a student of A Course in Miracles and trained at Pathways of Light, an accredited ministerial school inspired by the text, and was ordained as a minister (Ordained Ministerial Counselor) in 2012.[2][4] She has been a frequent speaker at Unity of Burbank in California, where she founded and led the congregation's Spanish-language services.[4] She teaches the principles of the Course through workshops, online courses, coaching, and public speaking, and has been a guest speaker at ACIM conferences in the United States and Europe.[2][4] She also hosts a podcast, The Maria Felipe Show.[2]
Books
Live Your Happy (2017)
Felipe's first book, Live Your Happy: Get Out of Your Own Way and Find the Love Within, was published by New World Library in April 2017.[1][5] Drawing on A Course in Miracles, it presents a practical approach to releasing fear and cultivating happiness across nine chapters, urging readers to reject what she calls "the cuckoo voice of the ego."[1][5] Previewing the book, Publishers Weekly grouped it among new titles on "conscious living."[1] The book carries a foreword by the Mexican actress and singer Angélica Vale.[6]
A Spanish-language edition, ¡Vive Feliz! Quítate del medio y descubre el amor dentro de ti, was also released, and Felipe narrated audiobook editions in both English and Spanish; the book was later translated into German as Lebe dein Happy.[2]
Live Your Happiest (2025)
Felipe's second book, Live Your Happiest: A Practical Guide to Living a Suffering-Free Life, was published in 2025.[2] It combines the teachings of A Course in Miracles with Byron Katie's self-inquiry method, "The Work."[2]
Personal life
Felipe lives in Naples, Florida, with her husband and son.[2][3]
