Marcus Neill is an Australian footballer who plays for Premier League club Sunderland. He is the son of Australian former international Lucas Neill.[1]
Career
Neill was in the youth academy at Blackburn Rovers as a striker before joining Liverpool in late 2018.[2] He stayed on Merseyside until February 2024, when he signed for Sunderland.[3] He signed a two-year scholarship contract with Sunderland in July 2024.[4] In April 2025, he scored seven goals in two games for Sunderland U18s, scoring a hat trick against Liverpool and scoring four against Blackburn Rovers.[5]
Style of play
A forward player, he has been described as a good finisher with both feet.[6]
Personal life
He is the son of Australian former international footballer Lucas Neill.[7]
