Lizard Hammer is a band formed in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania in 2024. The group consists of Samuel Haak (Lead Vocals), Conor Necessary (Guitar, Backing Vocals), Max Norris (Bass), and Cayden Mattern (Drums, Backing Vocals).

The idea of a band with Conor Necessary and Benjamin Robbins came up a few times before Lizard Hammer was formed. (The Chips and Tungsten Q-Tips being the most relevant ones.) All of these projects failed within the first few weeks though.

After many attempts with different members, a drummer named Cayden Mattern was recruited. A singer named Gabe Conrad was as well. Cayden immediately showed himself as very helpful and capable at these first few practices, while the only known information of Gabe during practice is him sitting around while others played. Gabe Conrad left the band in November

After Gabe left the band, Lizard Hammer mostly practiced and recorded themselves playing music every once and a while.

Sometime in Spring of 2025, Conor Necessary found out about a Band Showcase in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania that was looking for bands. He told Cayden and Benjamin about this, and they agreed to sign up. This show was recorded and posted to YouTube.

The Demo/Single “Larry the Bartender” was released to streaming services by DistroKid on June 18th, 2025

In September 2025, they played a concert at the Selinsgrove commons. There are three things notable from this concert. Which are that: Conor broke a string, this is the only time that Benjamin sang, and that this was the last concert without current Lead Vocalist Sam Haak.

Sam joining the band led to Conor stepping down on Lead Vocals to Backing Vocals.

A few more shows would be played with varying levels of success. It was at this time they also played at a Selinsgrove Area High School assembly. They started to start gaining more public attention around this time.

Sam and Cayden were showing to be quite capable at their instruments with each of them doing their own solos to pad time.

In April 2026, a featured guitar soloist, Max Norris, played at Lizard Hammer's 2ND Concert at the Selinsgrove VFW.

In early May 2026, Benjamin Robbins left the band to work on his mental health. Max Norris stepped up to replace him.

On May 15th, 2026, Max played his first show as the bassist at the Selinsgrove Area High School Cabaret Concert.

On June 13th, 2026, the band played a monumental show for their size with bands Blacktop Mojo and The Band Feel.

They are currently suspected of working on a 1st album.
