An overview about left-rothbardianism

Left-rothbardianism is a political philosophy that emerged from Anarcho-capitalism, Market anarchism and Individualist anarchism, based on Murray Rothbard's free market and anti state views

Differences between left-rothbardianism and traditional anarcho-capitalism

Although left-rothbardianism and anarcho-capitalism had the same origin, their differences are not in political and economic beliefs but in practical and historical beliefs

The main difference between them is that left-rothbardians believe that liberalism and libertarianism had it origins in the old political left, like what Rothbard said in his book left and right: the prospects for liberty, and that libertarians should be more allied to the libertarian-left rather than the conservative right to fight authoritarism, like what was said in the book the betrayal of the american right by Murray Rothbard

Similarities with other market anarchist ideologies

Left-rothbardianism has it own characteristics but still very close to anarcho-capitalism, individualist anarchism, agorism and market anarchism, sharing positions against the state, immigration control laws, authoritarianism, mass surveillance, police brutality, taxes, collectivism and central planning(or planned economy)

Also, left-rothbardianism advocates for gun rights, LGBTQ+ rights, voluntarism, propriety rights, abortion rights, individualism, free speech, religious liberty, drug rights, free market and independent currency along with those ideologies

Their beliefs are based on total individual liberty, like other market anarchist ideologies, like what the book for a new liberty(the libertarian manifesto) by Rothbard said

The origins of left-rothbardianism

General roots

Although original rothbardianism and anarcho-capitalism got originated mainly by Rothbard and Mises ideas, left-rothbrdianism started in the late 60's when Murray Rothbard started to align himself more to the anti-war new left(or the anti state left), aligning with left-market philosopher like Karl Hess, breaking with the conservative right and getting more aligned with the libertarian left and the anti-capitalist free-market anarchists, with the main difference on their views being their view on private property, which left-rothbardians see them as legit even if they're the means of production, opposing the idea that workplaces should be managed by workers in co-ops

Later, left-rothbardianism, along with those individualist left-market ideologies inspired the creation of agorism

Also, Rothbard co-founded the Left and right: a journal of libertarian thought with Leonard Liggio and George Resch, which he defended that libertarianism and liberalism were originated on the old political left, and that libertarianism was a radical extension of liberalism, and later wrote that on the book left and right: the prospects for liberty

Core ideas

Left-rothbardianism believes that the existence of large corporations, monopolies and great economic inequality is caused by state regulations and privileges, and in their vision, making impossible to a true free market to exist

Left-rothbardians believe that a true laissez-faire system would end monopolies and reduce social inequality, like what the book man, economy, and state by Rothbard said

Also, left-rothbardians belive that state-owned property should be privatized, because they belive that state property is illegit because of their belief that the state is illegit too

The relationship with agorism

Agorism emerged from market anarchist ideologies and got inspired by left-rothbardianism too, influenced in Rothbard's anti-state and pro-market ideals, but wanting to constroy a libertarian society by the counter-economics(like what the new libertarian manifesto by SEK3 defends), unlike left-rothbardianism, which dont have a fixed strategy
