Language Services Associates (LSA) is a United States-based language services company headquartered in the greater Philadelphia area. [1] It provides interpretation, translation, and related language-access services for organizations in both the private and public sectors. It is ranked the 36th top language provider by the 2026 Nimdzi 100 report of the largest language providers in the language industry.
History & Founding
LSA was founded in 1991 by Laura K. T. Schriver,an Argentine-born interpreter. The company participated in the Small Business Administration 8(a) Business Development Program during its early expansion. It has remained privately owned by Schriver since its founding. [2]
Mission & Ownership
LSA states that its mission is to “interpret and translate the world.”[3] Laura Schriver serves as Board Chair, and Scott Cooper was appointed CEO effective January 1, 2024.[4] [5] [6]
Technology & Linguist Network
The company works with over 7,000 linguists across nearly 300 languages.[7] LSA also develops software platforms such as the LSA Client Portal, open APIs, and the LSA App. Its technology is designed to meet HIPAA, HITECH, and CMS compliance standards.[8]
The company’s mobile application provides access to interpreters in audio and video formats. It is available on multiple devices and includes features such as integration with client systems and customer support.
