KinitoPET is a 2024 psychological horror video game developed by troy_en. The game is presented as an early-2000s virtual desktop assistant named Kinito, an axolotl who interacts directly with the player's computer. Gameplay

The game takes place through a simulated desktop interface where the player interacts with Kinito, a virtual assistant. As you play the game Kinito starts to get a too nosy asking you about your personal life opening up different programs and giving you lots of little games and puzzles to solve. What you do in the game affects how it ends. There are many different endings, to Kinito depending on what you decide to do with Kinito.

Plot

The player downloads KinitoPET, a virtual assistant designed to become their best friend. At the start, he is friendly and helpful, but Kinito gradually reveals obsessive behavior as the story progresses, blurring the line between the game and the player's computer.

Development

KinitoPET was developed by the indie developer troy_en using the Godot Engine. It was released for Microsoft Windows and macOS on January 9, 2024.

Reception

KinitoPET received "Very Positive" user reviews on Steam, with praise directed toward its atmosphere, and very good experience.
