KillAllMen is a controversial hashtag that first appeared on Twitter (Now X) in May 2013 within online Radical feminist groups.[1][2][3]
Some feminist commentators have argued that the phrase is generally used to express frustration with patriarchal systems and misogyny rather than a literal call for violence against men.[4]
Men's rights activists and other critics have condemned the phrase as misandrist or dehumanizing rhetoric. American Conservative radio host Alex Jones stated "feminists have misappropriated the women’s rights movement into an excuse for hating men."[5]
The Point discussed the hashtag's 2013 popularity, describing arguments from some feminist commentators that the phrase was intended humorously and that misandry did not operate in the same way as misogyny because it lacked comparable institutional power.[6]
