Draft:Joe Polish

  • Comment: I had someone come into IRC asking about this draft, saying they were not understanding "the concept of secondary sources". From a quick skim of the references, it is not so much an issue with having no secondary sources, it is an issue of having significant coverage in those sources. The references do not so much talk about Polish as they do about his business (with a few exceptions); they generally fall into the vein of "Have you heard of Polish? He has a business. Let me talk about that business". We need references that talk about him. Hopefully that helps, but feel free to pop back on to IRC if there are further questions. • Comment: The Draft is well written and structured but it relies heavily on self published and promotional sources.... To be accepted it needs multiple independent, reliable sources providing significant coverage of the subject himself. Please ADD such sources before resubmitting.... CONFUSED SPIRIT talk 07:17, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
  • Comment: Content is weakly sourced, and also not written to WP:MOS. Suggest you reduce uncited bullets, set into prose. Prose should be expanded. Pegnawl (talk) 00:47, 16 September 2025 (UTC)

Joe Polish (born February 4, 1968) is an American author and businessman. He has established his career in promoting learning in marketing and addiction recovery advocacy.[1][2] Polish founded Piranha Marketing[3], and Genius Network, a Mastermind group where entrepreneurs connect.[4][5] He also founded Genius Recovery, a non-profit organization focused on providing effective tools and education for healing addiction.[6]

Early life and education

Brought up in America, Polish has been open about the personal vices that defined his youth, primarily his addiction.[7] After beginning at community college in Arizona, he gave up formal schooling and started his own business in the carpet cleaning industry.[8] This is where he began to develop his marketing strategies that helped him enhance his own business by creating advertising and sales campaigns.[9][10]

Career

Piranha Marketing

In the 1990s, Polish founded Piranha Marketing with the aim of assisting small service businesses in promoting themselves better.[11][12][13]

Genius Network

Polish established Genius Network in 1998, an organization whose purpose is to connect entrepreneurs and help them collaborate and grow.[14][15] The network operates through different levels of memberships, and holds an annual conference with business individuals and intellectual leaders globally. Those attendees have included Tony Robbins[16], Richard Branson, Tim Ferriss, and Arianna Huffington.[8][17]

In the book Millionaire Success Habits, the author Dean Graziosi mentions he participated in Genius Network and Joe had assisted him in "improving his marketing skills".[18]

Genius Recovery

In 2018, Polish established Genius Recovery, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on addiction recovery, education and promoting awareness. The organization achieves this through education initiatives, media ventures, and advocacy.[19][20]

Podcasts and media

Polish has created and co-hosted a number of business-centered podcasts: The Joe Polish Show, I Love Marketing (with Dean Jackson), The Genius Network Podcast, and 10xTalk (with Dan Sullivan).[21][22]

These shows include interviews with business owners, marketers, and authors, debating personal growth and business success.[21]

Publications

Polish has written or co-written a variety of books. The latest one has been What's In It For Them?, which focuses on relationship-building, trust and rapport.[23] There is also his book called Life Gives to the Giver, that discusses the concept of fundamental dominos in different areas of someone's life.[24] He has also co-written books about addiction recovery such as The Miracle Morning for Addiction Recovery, written with Hal Elrod; and Understanding Addiction and Recovery, written with Anna David, which is an addiction psychology study.[25][26]

Documentaries and films

There are two documentaries that have featured Joe Polish's life and advocacy work. One of them is Connected: The Joe Polish Story (2018). This movie documents Polish's journey from addiction to his business achievement.[7] The second documentary is Black Star, which is a short film co-produced with Jon Butcher and Akira Chan. This is focused on how art has a healing effect and helps stop the vicious cycle of addiction.[27]
