Gyalgebra (stylized in all caps) is the sixth studio album by American electronic band Major Lazer. It was released on November 21, 2025, via Mad Decent and Because Music.[1] The project is the group's first self-contained body of work in five years and serves as the official introduction of America Foster as the group's first-ever in-house vocalist and "First Lady".[2]

Background and recording
Following a brief live performance hiatus, Major Lazer began rolling out new music through unconventional channels, including premiering tracks on Twitch and during college fraternity pop-up shows.[1] The mixtape was recorded largely at Pompey, Diplo's newly established studio sanctuary in Jamaica.[1]
The project prominently features vocalist America Foster. After Diplo discovered her freestyling, she was invited to Jamaica in October 2024 to record, eventually joining Major Lazer as an official member during their 2025 European summer tour.[1] The title GYALGEBRA reflects her addition to the group, referencing her status as their first female member.[2]
Composition
Musically, GYALGEBRA marks a return to Major Lazer's early, unpredictable genre mash-ups and "outsider dancehall energy."[2] The nine-track mixtape incorporates a wide array of global club genres, including dancehall, drill, shatta, zess, dembow, soca, bouyon, Miami jook, and funk carioca.[1]
Guest contributors on the mixtape include Jamaican dancehall singer Busy Signal, Dominican singer Tokischa, Trinidadian soca star Bunji Garlin, New Zealand choreographer and singer Parris Goebel, Toronto singer SadBoi, Jamaican zess singer Lady Lava, and Miami jook pioneer DJ Chipman.[3] Production contributions also include Amsterdam-based DJ Kybba on the shatta-influenced track "GANGSTA".[1]
