Comment: When you say "in the next 6 months" that will quickly become false as time passes. Please use statements like "scheduled for mid-2027" (or whatever date is correct) instead. M kuhner (talk) 23:41, 7 August 2026 (UTC)

Faneromeni Library (Greek: Βιβλιοθήκη Φανερωμένης) is a library located in Faneromeni Square in Nicosia. It is one of the oldest libraries in Cyprus.
History
It was founded in 31 October 1933 by the Faneromeni church and a group of prominent men of letters.[1] The Faneromeni library houses the reading room and the informational center of the Cyprus Library, specialising in Cyprological material.[2]
The building
The library is housed on the first floor of the Tsaousis building, which is a property of the Church of Cyprus.[2] The Tsaousis building was constructed in the 1920s and its one of the landmarks of Neo-classical architecture in Nicosia. The library was housed there from 1934.[3] In 2009 the neo-classical building of the library was restored according to strict specifications.[4]
The library is scheduled to be moved in mid 2027 because the Archibishophoric has reached an agreement to rent it to the annex of the University of Athens that has been established in Cyprus in 2025.[2] The librarians have expressed their concerns for the move in a lettter, explaining that the proposed move of all the material from the Phaneromeni Library to the Cyprus Library is inadequate because the Cyprus Library doesn't have the capacity and the health and safety specifications to house the material and the librarians.[5]
