Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Sopapunta represented Jean Jacques Machado – Team 148, an affiliate of the Machado Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu lineage. His competitive style is noted for a high submission rate (42.86% In Jiu-Jitsu World League matches) and a technical approach developed within the Machado system.

His most notable achievements have come within the Jiu Jitsu World League (JJWL) and IBJJF, where he has competed in both gi and no-gi divisions. As of 2026, his JJWL record reportedly includes more than 35 wins and 15 recorded submissions while obtaining 196 points.
