D4RE
D4RE (stylized as d4re) is the stage name of Jacob Majid, a Canadian artist, songwriter and producer. His music combines elements of hyperpop, alternative rock, alternative pop, trap and electronic music, characterized by glitch-oriented production, distorted textures, melodic songwriting and emotionally driven themes. An early review of his work described his sound as "alt-hyper-pop" and highlighted the influence of alternative music, trap and melodic glitchcore.
Career
D4RE began releasing music in the early 2020s. His documented releases include the three-song project i moved on, released February 11, 2022. The project consists of "Artificial Intelligence", "hearts", and "4mber You Suck", and credits Jacob Majid in its copyright information.
In March 2022, D4RE released "etherial", a collaboration with emotionals3k. The song was described by A&R Factory as an "alt-hyper-pop" release, with the publication noting D4RE's alternative influences and use of glitch-oriented electronic production.
D4RE later released "i hope you get it" on September 16, 2022. The release is credited to d4re, with Jacob Majid listed in the copyright information.
Majid's music has continued to develop toward a blend of hyperpop and alternative rock, using the heightened electronic production associated with hyperpop alongside the guitar-driven and emotional qualities of alternative music.
The Last Goodbye
In 2026, D4RE released the EP The Last Goodbye. Spotify lists the project among D4RE's releases as a 2026 EP.
The Last Goodbye is centered around heartbreak and the end of a significant relationship. According to Majid's description of the project, the EP was written about a former girlfriend whose breakup left him heartbroken. The project uses the experience of the relationship and its aftermath as a central emotional theme.
The EP represents a more personal direction in D4RE's songwriting, combining emotionally direct subject matter with his developing fusion of hyperpop and alternative rock.
Singles
Among D4RE's later singles are "cyanide", "itsallinmyhead", and "pronunciation". Spotify lists "pronunciation" among D4RE's 2026 releases.
His earlier singles include "etherial" featuring emotionals3k and "i hope you get it".
D4RE has also appeared as a featured artist on Oncite's "go go go", alongside sxulz and rvvnge. The song was released in 2022.
Musical style
D4RE's music occupies a space between hyperpop and alternative rock, incorporating electronic experimentation with the emotional intensity and instrumentation associated with alternative music.
His early work has been described as "alt-hyper-pop," with critics noting spacey and futuristic production, glitch textures, trap influences and melodic songwriting.
The combination of electronic distortion, melodic vocals, alternative songwriting and emotionally focused lyrics has become a defining characteristic of D4RE's developing sound.

Musical influences
D4RE has cited Lil Peep, Radiohead, Alice in Chains, and Pearl Jam as influences on his music. The artists represent a range of genres and eras, including emo rap, alternative rock, grunge, and experimental rock.
The influence of these artists can be seen in D4RE's combination of emotionally vulnerable songwriting and darker alternative-rock textures with modern electronic and hyperpop production. Lil Peep's influence is reflected in the emotionally direct and confessional nature of some of D4RE's songwriting, while Radiohead, Alice in Chains, and Pearl Jam represent important influences from alternative rock and grunge.
These influences contribute to D4RE's approach of combining hyperpop with alternative rock, creating a sound that incorporates distorted guitars, electronic production, melodic vocals, and emotionally focused lyrics
