CliniDo is an Egyptian health technology company whose platforms connects patients with doctors, clinics, laboratories, and home medical services. Founded in January 2020 in Assiut, Egypt, it operates across several regions including Greater Cairo, Alexandria, and the Nile Delta.[1]

History

Founding and early operations (2020)

Three people started CliniDo in January 2020 - Wael Soliman, Mina Shawky, and Hitham Essam - working out of Assiut in Upper Egypt.[1] In that first year, the company launched clinic appointment booking, a telehealth consultation system, and the CliniDo Medical Blog.[1]

By the end of 2020, around 1,500 healthcare providers had listed on the platform, and it had processed up to 15,000 bookings for over 12,000 patients across Greater Cairo and Upper Egypt. [1]

Seed funding (2020)

That December, CliniDo raised a seed round in the low six-figure USD range from two angel investors who were not publicly identified. The money went towards product development and expanding the range of listed healthcare providers.[1]

Al Forsa television competition (2023)

In August 2023, CliniDo appeared on episode of Al Forsa "The Opportunity", a business competition program broadcast on Egyptian channel ON TV (Egypt) and hosted by journalist Lamis El Hadidi. Competing against two other startups in the third episode, the company won and advanced to the program's final. [2]

Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Middle East (2024)

CliniDo received a Rising Star award at the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Middle East 2024, a regional program recognising high-growth technology companies.[3]

Surgical booking and instalment payment (2024)

In November 2024, CliniDo added a service letting patients book surgical procedures and medical services directly through the platform. Payment could be spread across plans of 3 to 48 months, arranged through Egyptian banks and consumer finance providers.[4]

Services

The company's mobile and web applications cover appointment scheduling by specialty and location, audio and video teleconsultation, an AI-powered symptom checker, voice search, home doctor and nurse visits, home laboratory test bookings, and medical procedure booking with instalment payment options.
