Brainquake is the musical project of artist Marc Ceulemans from Antwerpen, Belgium originating from the late 1980s mail-art and tape-scene. His work specializes in "endzeit emotronica"—a fusion of ambient, industrial, noise, and dark wave. Known for emotional, long-form, and atmospheric soundscapes,[1] his music focuses on dystopian themes, structural chaos, and sonic storytelling. [2]
His prolific works count with more than 30 studio albums. Initially most of his physical material was released by The Disciples Of Penumbra.[3]
Their work often features collaborations with other underground producers like Grosso Gadgetto, Sven Phalanx, and Humanfobia, resulting in a wide range of sonic textures from dark atmospheric pieces to rhythmically complex tracks.
Brainquake has appeared at indie festivals, showcasing their abstract and immersive approach to electronic music.[4]
