Ben Wrather (born September 26, 2001) is an American football offensive lineman for the Northwestern Wildcats.

Early life

Wrather grew up in Powell, Ohio and attended Olentangy Liberty High School.[1] Wrather was rated as a three star recruit, receiving over 25 offers from the likes of schools like Penn State, Purdue, Indiana, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, and others.[2] He ultimately committed to play college football at Northwestern University.[3]

College career

In 2020, Wrather’s COVID-19 shortened freshman season, he played in eight games.[4] In 2021, he appeared in 11 games, starting two of them.[5] In 2022, he appears in 9 games. For the 2023 season, Wrather started at Center, making 12 starts at the position.[6] Wrather ended up seeing action in 770 snaps, the third-highest mark on the team.[7] According to Pro Football Focus, posted a season-high 83.9 pass grade against Duke (9/16/23).[7] Wrather registered a 77.3 pass blocking grade in the Las Vegas Bowl win over Utah (12/23/23).[7]

Prior to the 2024 season, Wrather has played in 40 games, making 13 starts for the Wildcats.[8][9]

On December 21, 2024, Wrather declared for the 2025 NFL draft.[10]
