Benjamin "Ben" Warren, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a fictional character from the medical drama television series Grey's Anatomy, which airs on the ABC in the United States, and is portrayed by Jason George. Ben was introduced in the sixth season as an anesthesiologist at Seattle Grace Mercy West hospital, who begins to show a romantic interest in resident Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson).

Ben's primary storylines revolve around his professional career changes and family commitments. He eventually marries Miranda Bailey and when Ben leaves Seattle to begin a surgical internship, their long distance marriage becomes a key storyline in Seasons 9 and 10.

When Ben leaves his job as a second-year surgical resident to return to Seattle in order to spend more time with his family, he intitially tells Miranda he did not have the same passion for surgery that he does for anesthesiology. He later reveals this was a lie to ensure Miranda did not feel bad for him - and he continues his residency at Seattle Grace Mercy West hospital.

Early in his residency, Ben develops close friendships with many of the attendings; the most notable being Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr). Ben was often referred to, and referred to himself as, the 'Chief's favourite', despite Webber not being Chief of Surgery for much of this time.

The character received mixed reviews from critics early on, with some finding him irritating suspecting he would ruin Miranda Bailey's character. However, as Ben evolved and his storylines deepened, she gained significant character growth, and many fans began to appreciate her journey, eventually becoming a fan-favorite.

In the Series 12 finale, when a fire strikes Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, the hospital is put into lockdown and due to the lack of access to an OR, Ben cracks a patient's chest with part of a clipboard. Afterwards, Ben begins secret training to become a firefighter but doesn't tell Miranda.

When Ben does eventually tell Miranda about his training and planned career change, she is intially angry with him due to previous surgical incidents she had covered for - and also the fear of losing him due to an accident - however she eventually comes to terms.

Ben has another career change, which results in him resuming his surgical residency at Grey Sloan. In Season 22, he is announced as Chief Resident by Bailey.

Towards the end of Season 22, Ben becomes a fellow of Plastic Surgery.
