Indian archer
Divya Dhayal is an Indian archer. She became the national archery champion at age 15.[6] She has represented India at world archery youth championship, archery world cups, international archery tournaments[7][8] and other international archery events[9][10]
Early life and education
Dhayal, born in Bareilly, comes from a military family.[11] Her father Colonel Vikram S Dhayal[5] is an army officer.[12] She started her early archery training at the Army Sports Institute.[13] in Pune and later at other places, under her father.[3]
Career
Divya started her archery journey at the age of 13 years in 2014.[11]
National
She won the Senior National Archery Championship in 2017 by winning the individual gold and mixed team gold.[6]
International
She started playing as an International player by participating in the World Cup[14] as a compound archer and has played for India since 2016.[15]
Personal life
She gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Indian Army as a commissioned officer in September 2023.[28][29] She received the Indian Sports Honours[30] and has two siblings Khushbu Dhayal[31] and Digvijay Dhayal.[32] She completed her schooling from the Army Public School, Pune and bachelors from Symbiosis Institute, Pune.[33][34]
