This enzyme belongs to the family of transferases, specifically those acyltransferases transferring groups other than aminoacyl groups. The systematic name of this enzyme class is acetyl-CoA:deacetylcephalosporin-C O-acetyltransferase. This enzyme participates in penicillin and cephalosporin biosynthesis.
