Daria Andreevna Zueva (Russian: Дарья Зуева, Smolensk, RSFSR, Soviet Union, 7 March 1990) is a Russian–Dutch actress, producer, singer and coach.
Biography
Early Life and Career
Daria Zueva was born on March 7, 1990 in Smolensk, USSR and at seventeen moved to Moscow to train as an actress at the Institute of Modern Art from 2007 to 2011.[1][2] During this time Daria Zueva already began to work in the theatre. In 2012, Daria played Lisa in the international hit musical Mamma Mia! produced by Stage Entertainment in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, appeared in the musical Hipsters (Russian: Стиляги) at the Theatre of Nations in Moscow in 2019.[3] Daria has had guest roles in a number of TV series from 2013 including Russian [4][5] and International series[6], she was also cast in Limonov: The Ballad the latest film created and directed by award winning director Kirill Serebrennikov that was selected for the 77th Cannes Film Festival 2024.[7][8]
Career in the Netherlands
In 2018, Zueva moved to the Netherlands and in 2021 became a Dutch citizen band dual Russian-Dutch nationality.[3]. She appeared in the film Life Is Wonderful by director Frans Weisz in 2018 and later appeared in a short film, Exodus, directed by Guido F.G. Jeurissen, which premiered in 2020 at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. In 2022, she played the role of Jelena in an episode of season 2 of the detective series "Van der Valk" directed by Jean van de Velde.
After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, she organized a musical theatre performance Be a Tree with the theatre group Let the Sunshine In to benefit Ukrainian refugee children in Dutch shelters located in Meppel, Amsterdam, Bloemendaal, Arnhem and Haarlem.[9]

In 2023, Zueva made her debut as a producer in the short film Burden directed by Stephan Brenninkmeijer, in which she played the leading role of Masha.[11][3]. This film was later screened in Dutch cinemas as part of a compilation of short films, Almanac: women to love[12]. The film was distributed by Amstelfilm in the context of International Women's Day[13].
Around the same time, Zueva registered her production company «Zu film».[3]
Music
In 2020, she participated in the music TV show All Together Now, produced by Endemol Shine Group.[14]. Her first English-languaged album, titled The Power of a Woman, recorder on Flexrecords, was released in 2023 under the name Daria Zu. That same year, and she took part in the musical TV show I Can See Your Voice on RTL4, produced by Warner Bros.
Coaching
Since 2018, Zueva has run a company called Let the sunshine in, where she works as a coach, helping people improve their public speaking skills, as well as their singing and acting abilities.[2][3]
Competition Juries and Panels
Zueva is frequently invited to serve as a jury member at various festivals. During the pandemic, she was a jury member for the Living classics competition, which features young Russian-speaking readers.[15][16]
In 2024, she was invited to serve as a judge at the FP Arts and Short Film Festival, an international short film competition in Scotland.[17]
