Film rights to the book were optioned.[3] A film was not made but the book was adapted into a 1978 musical documentary for ABC radio called Endless Flight.[4]
Reception
The New York Times called it a "superb book... although the setting was provincial, and indeed at times parochial, the story is seen in its universal significance."[5]
