Bijay Kumar Satpathy is a former Indian weightlifter who won the silver medal in the men's Bantamweight event at 1982 Commonwealth Games.[1][2] He was conferred with the Arjuna Award in the year 1981–82 by the Government of India.[3][4]

Career

Satpathy is a five time national champion in weightlifting from 1977–78 to 1982-83 and represented the Indian Navy and Indian Railways. He won the gold medal at the 1981 Mini Commonwealth Games and later followed up with silver at the 1982 main event at Brisbane. He won the bronze medal at the 1981 and 1983 Asian Weightlifting Championships.[5][6]
