Bengtol College, is the higher educational institution located in the district of Chirang, Assam, India. It is 17 km (11 mi) from NH-31 and 24 km (15 mi) from Bongaigaon[1] The college is affiliated to Bodoland University.
History
The concept of establishing Bengtol College was started in 1977. An ad hoc committee was set up educationally conscious to achieve the purpose. As there was no official construction due to several reasons. The college was started in 1981. The first classes were started on 1 August 1997 with comprising 7 students in B.A. 1st year and 3 teachers. The pioneers of college were Bhobeh Ch owary, Shri Eona Narzary, Sunil Bhowmick, and Ranjit Kr Narzary.
In 1999, the College formed an alliance with the Gauhati University.English,English elective, Modern Indian Language (MIL) in Bodo, Assamese and Nepali, Bodo elective, Political Theory, Training, Financial Aspects, History, Reasoning, and BBA were included in the college's partnership. Also, the College approved a partnership for the school to offer important courses in the related fields of body, finance, training, English, history, logic, and political theory. In 2009, Gauhati University approved a long-term association with the institution. However, beginning around 2020, the College is affiliated with Bodoland University in kokrajhar, Assam according to State Govt-bearing.
In 2009 saw the college received Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act 1956, New Delhi, recognition. The college comprises 12 acres of spacious, adjoining property on a lovely, verdant landscape. In the UGC -sponsored college, many more career-oriented courses have been added. Via distant learning institutions like the Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) GU and Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) in Guwahati, Assam, the college offers quality education to underprivileged students and working adults.
Courses
The college has two programmes at UG level B.A. (three-year degree course), BBA and one programme at PG level, M.A in English and Bodo.
There are different courses too in the College presented through distance mode. Post Graduate (PG) and Under Graduate (UG) courses are accessible in the school through Organization of Distance and Open Learning (Symbol), Gauhati
University and Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) separately. The review focus of Bengtol College conducts classes for PG on Sundays as planned.
