Belle Plaine (2016 population : 85 ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Pense No. 160 and Census Division No. 6 . Belle Plaine is located on Highway 1 (also known as the Trans Canada Highway ), 21 kilometres east of the City of Moose Jaw in south-central Saskatchewan. Buffalo Pound Provincial Park and Regina Beach are located near Belle Plaine.
History
Belle Plaine incorporated as a village on August 12, 1910.[ 4]
Demographics
In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada , Belle Plaine had a population of 79 living in 32 of its 37 total private dwellings, a change of -7.1% from its 2016 population of 85 . With a land area of 1.35 km2 (0.52 sq mi), it had a population density of 58.5/km2 (151.6/sq mi) in 2021.[ 7]
In the 2016 Census of Population , the Village of Belle Plaine recorded a population of 85 living in 33 of its 43 total private dwellings, a 22.4% change from its 2011 population of 66 . With a land area of 1.34 km2 (0.52 sq mi), it had a population density of 63.4/km2 (164.3/sq mi) in 2016.[ 8]
